Landing Gear
The FLM does not have traditional landing gear but instead uses replaceable plastic skid pads to protect the composite airframe from abrasion during landing.

Inspecting Landing Gear
The landing skids need to be visually inspected before each flight during the Aircraft Inspection preflight checklist step. Make sure each skid is securely attached to the airframe. Verify each pad is intact without significant cracking or missing pieces. The pad should be replaced after the first third of material is abraded or worn down, leaving approximately 0.75 inch of pad thickness remaining. Remove any debris lodged in or under the pad before the next flight.
Replacing a Skid Pad
Tools needed: 3.0 mm hex driver.
- Unscrew the mounting screws.
- Remove and discard the damaged skids.
- Reinstall the mounting screws into the new skid and fuselage and hand tighten.
